Pennant Update

Glen Gibson, scored a hole in one in his Illawarra Pennant match at the Grange

With the semi-finals approaching, we take a look back at what has happened so far.

There have been three hole in ones. Congratulations to Glen Gibson (The Grange) who holed out in his Illawarra Pennant Div 2 match at the Grange in the first round. The following week saw C pennant player Clive Timmins (Gerringong ) claim one at Wollongong. Links Shell Cove B Pennant player James Toomey was the next to hole out, doing so on his first swing of the day at Russell Vale on 25th February. All three went on to win their matches.

The final round of Illawarra division one will be held on Sunday, with the clash between Links Shell Cove and Port Kembla to decide who will get the week off. the loser will play Kiama in the second v third play-off.

The outcome in Division Two of the Illawarra Pennant is up in the air as all four teams can still qualify, although the Links will need the result in the between the Grange and Russell Vale to be favourable to their cause.

In B Pennant the Grange and Kiama are through to the semi-finals in division one. With one round to go in division two Shoalhaven Heads who have the bye this weekend are safe. The other spot will be between Links Shell Cove and Russell Vale who clash. The Links only require a draw to go through to the finals.

Division One of the C Pennant sees the Grange and Kiama qualify for the semi's. With one round to go all teams are still in the hunt in division two.

The semi-finalists have been decided even though their is one round left in division three. The first semi-final will see division one winners Jamberoo 2 take on division three winners Highlands, with the second semi between division two winners Kiama and Sussex Inlet 1 who were the division four winners.

There will be no semi-finals in the Encourage Shield. With one round left, the finalists have been decided with Wollongong to play St Georges Basin.
